After a thousand years, in a land that once ignited the flame of knowledge across continents, a Muslim school is being built again—the first of its kind in modern Spain, where no legally recognized Islamic school currently exists.

Today, in a region that once produced world-changing scholars, physicians, architects, and philosophers—Spanish Muslims and reverts grow up without access to structured Islamic education. This project seeks to change that.

Sayyeda Zainab Foundation had the honor to interview the team behind this groundbreaking effort, and we now bring it to our global brothers and sisters with full conviction in its authenticity, vision, and historical significance.

This is not just about education.It is about revival.It is about restoring a light that once illuminated Europe and the world.

IHYA Al-Andalus: The Cradle of European Enlightenment

Al-Andalus, Islamic Spain, was not only a stronghold of Islamic civilization, but also a catalyst for the European Renaissance. Its libraries, universities, and centers of medicine and astronomy became bridges between classical knowledge and modern Europe.

Stanley Lane-Poole, British historian, wrote:

“The intellectual achievements of the Arabs in Spain were so brilliant that they cast a glow upon the whole Western world.”

Will Durant, in The Story of Civilization, noted:
